Our latest release brings more natural voiceovers, a rebuilt map module and new ways to use stock video in your stories. We’ve also extended our API with Recap support and welcomed two more languages to Flipatic.
More natural voiceovers with ElevenLabs V4
ElevenLabs V4 is now available in Flipatic. Our first tests show a significant improvement in how closely the voice resembles natural human speech, as well as greater consistency throughout a video.
For newsrooms using voiceovers every day, both matter. A voice needs to sound convincing in the first sentence and remain stable through the rest of the story. Early results suggest V4 could help resolve several of the issues we’ve experienced with previous models.
We’ll gradually recommend moving voices to V4, testing each publisher’s setup together and confirming the switch before making any changes.
The model also opens up new possibilities with audio tags: instructions attached to specific passages to guide how they are spoken. These could help with pronouncing a foreign surname using the appropriate accent or expressing a particular emotion. We’re still working on audio tag support in Flipatic and expect to introduce it in the coming weeks.
Redesigned maps, powered by Mapbox
We’ve completely rebuilt the module that creates maps for video backgrounds. Flipatic now uses Mapbox, giving us clearer, more visually appealing maps and greater control over their appearance, including the language of geographic names.
You can also place multiple location pins on a map and give each one an optional label.
This is useful when a story covers events in several places. Instead of showing a single location, you can mark each city or site and add a short description of what happened there. The map becomes part of the explanation, helping viewers follow the story.
Import video clips from stock libraries
Our stock media integrations now support importing video clips wherever the connected library provides them, including Pexels, Belga and ANP.
Alongside photos, you can now choose short clips that match your story and use them as video backgrounds in Flipatic. This brings more movement and variety to the finished video, with footage relevant to the subject.
Availability depends on the library and the content accessible through your integration.
Create Recap videos through the API
Recap is now supported in the Flipatic API.
Publishers can send a list of articles and turn them into a single video roundup. This makes it possible to include Recap in automated workflows - for example, creating a morning briefing or a recurring news summary at a set time.
Your workflow determines which articles to include and when to send them. Flipatic handles turning that selection into a Recap video.
Czech and Luxembourgish join Flipatic
As new publishers join Flipatic, our language coverage continues to grow. This release adds Czech and Luxembourgish, helping more newsrooms turn their reporting into short videos in their audiences’ own languages.
